I know how tough it is to get back to Exercise, Health & Wellbeing after having a Baby... I am a Pilates teacher and I've still found it hard to make sure that my Health & Fitness is placed on the priority list (it is very challenging). Us Mama's need this for ourselves, even if we do have our little sidekicks with us 😀 Feel welcome to bring baby or come alone. The Focus: - Pelvic Floor Engagement - Core Strengthening - Leg Strength & Toning - Arm Strength & Toning - Glute Strengthening (Bum Muscles) - Posture Correction - How to Breathe during exercise to maximise the benefits - Stretches / Flexibility & Mobilising after all the 'carrying baby around' etc. Ideally, with regards to the baby's role in the class, it would be best if baby is not yet crawling or walking... Only because, from past experience in teaching Postnatal classes, Mama does not get to focus on herself, due to watching or chasing baby around, trying to get them to sit still etc. Options of how baby can be part of the class: - In a carrier / sling / wrap, on the front / back of your body. This might be best for babies between 0-7 months (it depends how heavy they are - you'll know yourself if this would work). I wouldn't suggest this if you feel you have no core strength at all, or you have a bad back. - They might actually sleep through the class - so in their car seat? Or on the mats that I provide with a blanket you bring along. - You might have a little seat for them, that they enjoy playing in... - Always feel welcome to feed or change your baby through the class, I totally understand, babies have a mind of their own, you do what you need to do 😀 With regards to the Studio and what to bring with you: - Please refrain from bringing in a buggy / pram - there is not enough space in the studio or entrance passageway for this. - Car seats are no problem - especially if baby is going to sleep, or they are happy to sit in there. - We will workout in either bare feet or socks. I have a Studio Policy of 'no shoes'. This is for hygiene reasons and bringing the outside rain/dirt into the Studio. Especially if babies are lying on the mats too. It keeps everything nice and clean. - Please wear comfortable & stretchy clothing. Possibly in layers to add or take off depending on the temperature. - Remember a drink and maybe a small towel. Any further questions please ask, and I look forward to seeing you soon 😀 Ashleigh xx
